Two covers, first struck in red on 1822 folded cover to Worksop, England, Madras Ship Letter Oct. 7 and London May 3 (1823) transit datestamps, red "INDIA LETTER/FALMOUTH" handstamp (Robertson In. 1), overall soiling, second struck in blue on 1824 folded letter to "Nunjepiah, Dewan to His Highness the Rajah of Cochin", manuscript "Post Paid" and "Ans 4" rate, Very Fine pair of strikes in different colors, each listed in Giles as used for a period of one year, but the red strike is two years prior and the blue is one year prior to dates in Giles

EXMOUTH - PAIR OF RARE BOXED “INDIA LETTER/EXMOUTH” COVERS EX QUILON/BOMBAY; 5 June 1824 E (stained corner) to London “via Bombay” charged “2/-” with a faint blue framed “QUILON/POST PAID” on the front along with a mainly very fine rare boxed “INDIA LETTER/EXMOUTH” (Rob.In.1; only known 1824- 31 - just affected by stain); plus v. fine 22 Mar. 1831 EL from “Surat” to London “P. [Ship] Cumbrian” with a mainly fine light red double-oval “SHIP/B.G.P.O./POSTAGE PAID” (Bombay; HG SD4 - “Very Scarce”) on the front (affected by filing note) with a mainly very fine rare boxed “INDIA LETTER/EXMOUTH” (slightly overstruck by red London arrival c.d.s.) on the top flap. 1824 entire letter posted from Quilon to London, bearing 12 annas postage paid. The cover is struck in blue with the rare “India Letter / Brighton” handstamp and bears other transit markings on the reverse. The letter reached London on 27th April 1825. Cavendish - BRIGHTON - QUILON/DINAPORE “POST PAID” COVERS WITH BOXED “INDIA LETTER/BRIGHTON” MARKS; 22/23 Aug. 1824 EL (part flap lost with seal) from “Quilon” to London “Via Madras” with a very fine scarce blue framed “QUILON/POST PAID” nicely placed on the front (HG1; only known in blue for 1825 and in red only in 1824 - filing crease) and (on flap) a large part v. fine boxed “INDIA LETTER/BRIGHTON” (Rob.In.1); plus similar 24 Dec. 1824 E to London with very fine double-oval “DINAPORE/POST PAID” (HG2) slightly overlapped by a similarly very fine boxed In.1 “INDIA LETTER/BRIGHTON” on the flap. 1825 Quilon – Gloucestershire entire via Bombay & Cape route, with Giles 1 "QUILON/POST PAID" handstamp, date "9 July 1825" & rate "Rs1 As1" (comprising 15A inland postage to Bombay & 2A outward sea postage paid) applied in manuscript. From Bombay, sent to the UK via the Cape route, transited through Liverpool port & there "INDIA LETTER/LIVERPOOL" mark applied. "1/2" comprising 4d ship letter postage (under 3 oz.) & 10d inland postage to Gloucestershire applied in manuscript, which was collected from the recipient.
