INDIA, Quilon, 1822-24, "QUILON/POST PAID" Handstamps (Giles 1). Two covers, first struck in red on 1822 folded cover to Worksop, England, Madras Ship Letter Oct. 7 and London May 3 (1823) transit datestamps, red "INDIA LETTER/FALMOUTH" handstamp (Robertson In. 1), overall soiling, second struck in blue on 1824 folded letter to "Nunjepiah, Dewan to His Highness the Rajah of Cochin", manuscript "Post Paid" and "Ans 4" rate, Very Fine pair of strikes in different colors, each listed in Giles as used for a period of one year, but the red strike is two years prior and the blue is one year prior to dates in Giles
