India, 1854, 1a Red, Die II (4B; SG 14). Huge to large margins, cancelled by grid circle (Cooper Ty. 2c) with clear strike of red framed "TANJORE/T.T./PUTTOOCOTAH" semi-circle despatch handstamp with manuscript "11-10-55" date added on back of blue folded cover to Calimere, red framed Calimere (Oct. 15) arrival backstamp (unrecorded by Giles), flap with some mended tears which affect both postmarks, Very Fine, a particularly rare use of this district post, ex "Topaz"
