Point Calimere, historically Calmeer Point, is a low headland on the Coromandel Coast in Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu, known also as Cape Calimere or by its Tamil name Kodiakkarai. The cape and its salt marshes lie at the southern edge of the Kaveri delta, opposite the Palk Strait toward Sri Lanka. As a coastal signal and post station of the Madras Presidency, it served the mail passing along the southern Coromandel shore.
