INDIA, 1854, 4a Red & Blue, 2nd Printing, Head Die II, Frame Die I (6D; SG 19). Two cut to shape singles, large to ample margins, used with 1854, 1a Red, Die I (4; SG 12), full to clear margins, all cancelled or tied by diamond of dots on cover to Boulogne sur Mer, France, sender's directive "Via Calcutta & Marseilles", red framed Bood Bood Paid despatch handstamp (Giles unrecorded) with manuscript "17 March 55" date added on back, two red framed "INDIA PAID" handstamps, Calcutta (Mar. 19) transit and Boulogne sur Mer (Apr. 30) arrival backstamps, red manuscript "1/-" and "10" decimes handstamp rate markings, the latter tying one 4a VERY FINE AND ATTRACTIVE COMBINATION OF THE ONE-ANNA AND TWO 4-ANNAS LITHOGRAPH STAMPS ON COVER TO FRANCE. The 1a paid the internal postage while the two 4a paid the 8a packet rate via Marseilles. Ex Dr. Kornan.
