Oomercote
Umerkot (historically Oomercote) is a town in the Sindh province of Pakistan at the edge of the Thar desert, famed for its fort and as the birthplace of the Mughal emperor Akbar. It was a desert-frontier trade town of eastern Sindh. Established as a post town under Company rule, its pre-1854 and early markings document the mail of the Thar borderland of Sindh.
