India, Subathoo, 1837, "SOBATHOO/POST PAID/18__" Framed Handstamp (Giles 1). Well-struck with manuscript "10th Feby (18) 37" date and "15a" rate markings on back of folded letter to Edinburgh, Scotland, sender's name of ship directive, red framed "INDIA LETTER/WEYMOUTH" (Robertson In.2) and framed "1/2" handstamps, framed Calcutta G.P.O. (Feb. 19, Giles SD11) and London (Aug. 8) transit and Edinburgh (Aug. 10) arrival backstamps, manuscript rate markings, cover with heavy vertical file fold and slight soiling, still Very Fine strike which is noted as "scarce" by Giles
