Phillaur (recorded as Phullour) is a town in Jalandhar district, Punjab, India, on the north bank of the Sutlej facing Ludhiana, where a Sikh-era fort was later turned into a British police and administrative station. It commanded a key river crossing on the Grand Trunk Road. Its pre-1854 postal markings record the Company's mail at the Sutlej frontier.
