Muzaffargarh (historically Muzzuffergarh) is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan on the strip of land between the Chenab and the Indus, a fortified town founded in the Durrani period. It became a district headquarters of the southern Punjab. Established as a post town after the annexation of 1849, its early markings record the British mail of the lower Indus doab.
