Layyah (the Leiah of early records) is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan in the Thal desert tract between the Indus and Chenab, founded as a river-trade town on the old Indus routes. It became a district headquarters of the Derajat frontier. Its pre stamp postal markings belong to the early British mail of the trans-Chenab desert after the annexation of the Punjab.
