Kussowlee: 1857 (18 Oct.) entire letter "via Lahore and Bombay" to Calcutta showing "KUSSOWLEE" c.d.s. (HG 3) in black (unrecorded by Hammond Giles) alongside framed "PM"; interesting contents showing the feelings of a lady residing in the hills for safety at the time of the Indian Mutiny, while her husband was with the Forces engaged in putting down the uprising, and "letters take so long in the circumstances".
