Harappa (recorded as Hurruppa) is a village in Sahiwal district, Punjab, Pakistan, on an old bed of the Ravi, and the type-site of the Bronze Age Indus Valley Civilisation later excavated there. In the mid-nineteenth century it was a small settlement of the Montgomery tract. Its pre stamp postal markings belong to the early British mail of central Punjab after the annexation of 1849.
