Gujrat (historically Goojerat) is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan between the Jhelum and Chenab rivers, an old craft town famed for its furniture, pottery and later its clockmaking. It was the site of the decisive 1849 battle that ended the Second Anglo-Sikh War and sealed the annexation of the Punjab. As a district post town its pre stamp markings belong to the earliest British mail of the Chaj Doab.
