(x) Afghanistan Postal History 1842 Riddell correspondence entire letter, datelined "Camp Sulliana 31 Jany 1842" , from Major Riddell to his wife at Indore, marked "Bearing" , on reverse framed Ferozepoe datestamp with "10as" inserted by hand; fine. The only letter from Riddell from Camp Sulliana, he describes the march from Ferozepore towards this camp near Kussoor, the crossing of the Sutledge river with a convoy of more than 500 camels, laden with ammunition and other military stores.
