Dera Ghazi Khan, historically Dera Ghazee Khan, is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan on the west bank of the Indus, at the edge of the plain beneath the Sulaiman mountains. A trans-frontier trade town of the Derajat, it became a district headquarters under British rule. Established as a post town after 1849, its pre stamp markings belong to the early British mail of the western Indus frontier.
