India, Kamptee, 1836, "KAMPTEE/POST PAID" Framed Handstamp (Giles 2). Clear strike in reddish violet with manuscript "28 April 1836" date and "13 Annas" rate markings on back of folded letter Launceston, England, red framed "INDIA LETTER/DOVER" handstamp (Robertson In.5), Madras (May 8) and Madras Out Station Ship Letter (May 8) and partial London transit datestamps, manuscript "2/8" and "2/2" rate crossed out and "2/5" rate applied, some minor splitting to front panel and minor opening flap tears, Very Fine
