INDIA, Cawnpore, 1803, "CAWNPore" Handstamp (Giles 1). Bold but partial strike with manuscript "28th July 1803" despatch date on top flap of folded cover addressed to Capt. Robert Campbell in Calcutta, accompanied by original letter detailing troop movements of various companies and battalions in preparation for the impending Second Anglo-Maratha War (1803-1805), cover with minor sealed tear on top flap not affecting handstamp, Fine strike, noted in Giles as rare
