India, Kristnagerry, 1800, "POST PAID/KRISTNAGERRY" Oval Handstamp (Giles 1). Mostly complete strike on folded letter datelined Jan. 18, 1800, addressed to Shrewsbury, England, sender's directive "By the first ship" , faint strike of "SHIP LETTER/LONDON" crowned handstamp (Robertson S.7), London (Jul. 9) arrival backstamp, manuscript "6f" for rate to Madras and "1/2" rate due markings, cover with flap tear extending just into Kristnagerry marking, some minor splitting to front panel, still Fine and exceptionally rare marking, Giles states "2 examples recorded"
