INDIA, Hyderabad, 1817, "POST-PAID/HYDERABAD" Handstamp (Giles 1). Mostly complete oval handstamp struck on back of folded letter with Sept. 25, 1817 despatch docketing, addressed to London, England, "UNPAID" in oval handstamp and charged 3/6" on arrival, Madras Packet Letter transit (Giles SD5) and "GPO OC 3, 1817" oval transit datestamps (Giles MX1, very scarce), London Apr. 23 arrival datestamps, cover with edgewear and flap tear affecting arrival cancels, also with overall soiling, still a Fine and scarce combination of markings, the Hyderabad marking is noted as rare by Giles
