Description

1843 Bolaram – Lucknow inland entire, with Bolaram Giles 1 "BOLARAM/Paid" despatch handstamp, date "17 July 1843" & paid rate "10 as" (comprising 5A × 2, double-letter inland rate for weight between ¼ & ½ tolah) applied in manuscript, addressed to Dr. John Spencer Login, Residency Surgeon, Lucknow, who served as guardian to Maharaja Duleep Singh, the last Maharaja of the Sikh Empire, after the annexation of Punjab. Giles 8 "LUCKNOW/1843 JULY 27/Paid" applied as the delivery mark.
