1839 (8.2) Folded lettersheet from Calcutta via Suez to Bordeaux, showing superbly clear strike of the oval “Care of Mr. Waghorn / Suez” hs (Smith Type 3) in black, with boxed “INDIA” and “PAQUEBOTE / DE LA / MEDITTERRANEE” alongside, with octagonal Calcutta Steam Letter paid backstamp in red, very fine and a rare cover.
