Description

Burma Diamond of Dots Cancellation combined with Post Office Datestamps 1854 (8 Oct.) partial entire (reduced at left) from Rangoon to Calcutta, bearing 1854 1a. Die I, three good to large margins, cancelled by diamond of dots obliterator and showing, on the reverse, attractive "rangoon post office" (Type D1) c.d.s. in red, new earliest date (recorded in the Proud book from 30 Oct. 1854). A few archival folds not detracting from the importance of this piece. One of the earliest usages of the 1a. from Burma. Photo
