Clear strike in red with manuscript "27th - 2 - /44" (Feb. 27, 1844) date and "2 as" rate added on folded letter to London, England, sender's directive "via Southampton" , red "INDIA" in oval handstamp, Bombay (Mar. 1) transit and London (Apr. 9) arrival backstamps, manuscript "1/-" rate marking, Very Fine and quite scarce, unrecorded by Giles though updated on the digitized listing of the Giles catalogue (www.handstruckstampsindia.com)
