Mallegaum, a town in the N asik District, Bombay Presidency on the trunk road from Bombay to Agra, 154 miles form Bombay, situated 20°33' N and 74°32' E. Mallegaum was occupied by Arab troops during the Pindaree War, and was captured by Colonel McDowell in May 1818.
