Karinja

Karanja Lad (the Karinja of early records) is a city in Washim district, in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, a historic market town and a revered centre of the Dattatreya tradition. It lay on the cotton-trading routes of Berar. Administered within the Bombay-linked network of British India, it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings trace the inland mail of the eastern Deccan.
