Dapoolee
Dapoli (the Dapoolee of early records) is a hill-and-coast town in Ratnagiri district, in the Konkan of Maharashtra, set on a plateau above the Arabian Sea and developed by the British as a small sanitarium and cantonment once nicknamed Camp Dapoli. It lay near the Konkan ports of the western coast. Administered under the Bombay Presidency, it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings record the mail of the Ratnagiri Konkan.
