Description

INDIA, Used in Damaun, 1854, ½a Deep Blue, Die I (2a; SG 4). Mostly large margins, just tied by diamond of dots cancel with violet "DAMAUN Paid" boxed datestamp (Giles 1) with manuscript "20-1-55" date on back of petite native cover, partial strike of Bombay Feb. 1855 cancel, cover with some edgewear and slight ink erosion, stamps faintly soiled, otherwise Fine and very rare, ex Dr. Contractor and Dr. Kornan
