Bulsar
Valsad, long known as Bulsar, is a city in southern Gujarat on the Auranga river near the coast, famed for its Hafus (Alphonso) mango orchards. It stood on the principal route between Bombay and Surat. As a post town of the Bombay Presidency it handled the through mail of the coastal corridor, and pre-1854 covers struck at Bulsar document that early trunk route.
