The Ahmedabad HG 2 handstamp
Ahmedabad, chief town of the District, situated 23°2' N and 72°35' E, 310 miles from Bombay. It was captured from the Moguls by the Marathas in 1753, and in 1818, with the overthrow of the Peshwa, it was ceded to the British.
