Turnlook
Tamluk (the Turnlook of early records) is a town in Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal, on the Rupnarayan near the coast, identified with the ancient port of Tamralipta that traded across the Bay of Bengal. It was a historic river-and-sea town of the Medinipur shore. As a post town of the Bengal Presidency its pre-1854 markings trace the mail of the coastal Medinipur country.
