Description

1825 New Anchorage – Kishenagor inland entire, with New Anchorage Giles 1 "NEW ANCHORAGE/POST OFFICE" despatch handstamp, date "16th Nov. 1825" applied in manuscript, transited through Calcutta & there Giles G8 "CALCUTTA/GPO/17 NO 17/1825" receipt & "AM" time mark in the same blue ink applied. Then despatched for Kishenagor with Giles 16 "G.P.O./Novr 17/Bg Pg 6" (bearing 6A as New Anchorage–Kishenagor single letter inland postage, as under 1 tolah wt.) bearing handstamp, addressed to an Indigo factory at Kishenagor, and the due was collected from the recipient there. Historical letter related to the infamous Indigo factory at Kishenagor (Nuddea).
