Naraingunge
Narayanganj (the Naraingunge of early records) is a major river port city in central Bangladesh on the Shitalakshya near Dhaka, long the great jute and trade emporium of eastern Bengal, sometimes called the Dundee of the East. It stood at the meeting of the delta's water routes. Within the Bengal Presidency it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings document the mail of the Dhaka riverside.
