Kandhee

Kandi (the Kandhee of early records) is a town in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, in the Rarh tract west of the Bhagirathi, a market and zamindari town of central Bengal. It lay on the roads of the Murshidabad interior. As a post town of the Bengal Presidency its pre-1854 markings document the mail of the western Murshidabad country.
