Jeggernaut

Puri (the Juggernaut of early records) is a coastal city in Odisha on the Bay of Bengal, one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage centres, home of the great Jagannath temple and its annual Rath Yatra. Vast pilgrim traffic made it a town of national resort. Within the northern Bengal Presidency it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings record the mail of the Odisha coast.
