India, Cuttack, 1829, "Cuttack/ POST PAID/18__" Dotted Oval Handstamp (Giles 1). Faint but clear strike with manuscript "7 June (18) 29" date and "7 as" rate markings on back of folded letter to Knaresbrough, England, sender's directive "Pr Resource", framed "INDIA LETTER/ DARTMOUTH" handstamp (Robertson In. 1), faint Calcutta and London (Dec. 19) transit backstamps, manuscript "1/3" rate markings, insignificant opening tear just affecting Calcutta datestamp, Fine and very rare postal marking from Cuttack, Giles notes "2 examples recorded"
