Clear and mostly complete strike with manuscript "29 Sept 1829" date and "Bearing - 4as" rate marking on back of folded letter datelined "Greenock May 8th 1829" and originating in Scotland, addressed to Calcutta, then forwarded to Commercolly and back to Calcutta, framed "KEDGREE/POST OFFICE/SHIP LETTER" handstamp (Giles S3) on back with manuscript "11 Septr" date added, two strikes of Calcutta (Oct. and Sept.) transit/arrival backstamps, cover with slight overall toning, still Very Fine strike of this rare marking, ex Dr. Contractor
