Mostly clear strike with manuscript "the 9th Feby 1836" date and "Post Paid 7 as" rate added on back of folded letter to London, England, sender's directive "Per Duke of Northumberland" , partial strike of red framed "INDIA LETTER/PORTSMOUTH" handstamp, Calcutta (Feb. 11) transit and partial London arrival backstamps, manuscript "1/3" rate marking, small piece of flap missing (affecting India Letter and London arrival handstamps), Fine strike, a rarely encountered handstamp
