Letter from CALCUTTA to EDINBRO required 204 days to reach the destination. Letter carried by the ship "Pattan". A single letter rate of 3/ 6d for a packet has been charged and marked in manuscript.This handstamp: Black octagonal "KINGS.SEA / POST*PAID. / CALCUTTA" was in use between Mar to July 1816, and is considered as a Rare ship despatch stamp.
