Description

India, Calcutta, 1837, "No. 1/CAL. DAK. CHOKEY/Pt Pd Rs. An. P/18__" Framed Handstamp (Giles 17). Mostly clear strike with manuscript "3 April (18) 37" date and "2" (annas) rate added on back of folded letter to Chinsurrah, cover with mild fold thru postal marking and overall toning of cover, Fine strike, noted as "Scarce" by Giles, located in Badam Tallah, this became "Rg. House No. 1" in October 1837
