Bettiah
Bettiah (recorded under the same name) is a city in West Champaran district, Bihar, near the Nepal border, historically the seat of the Bettiah Raj and a centre of the north Bihar indigo tracts. It lay on the routes toward the Himalayan foothills. Within the Bengal Presidency it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings trace the mail of the Champaran country.
