Penang 1826 (9Sept.) treble weight entre (210x85mm) to Aberdeen, variously rated, showing superb strike of the circular intaglio "prince of wales island/post office" h.s. in red with manuscript date inserted, boxed "½" and, on reverse, framed "india letter/deal" and arrival c.d.s. (5.3.1827); two vertical creases clear of handstamp. The earliest recorded and a choice example. Photo
