Ship Champion", rated "1/-", showing a fine strike of circular intaglio "prince of wales island/post office" handstamp in red with manuscript date inserted, framed "india letter/portsmouth" in red and, on reverse, light arrival datestamp (17.11); the entire letter stained at lower right corner.
