Description

1852 Kurrachee – Farnham, then redirected to Waugford overland cover via Southampton route, with Kurrachee Giles SL1 "KURRACHEE/SHIP LETTER/Paid" handstamp, rate "3A" (3A ship letter inward postage) applied in manuscript, sender endorsed "Prepaid by Steamer to Bombay". At Bombay, Giles G4 "BOMBAY/OC 16/1852" transit & SD7 "INDIA" mark applied, sent to Aden via VICTORIA, to Suez via ORIENT, then sent overland to Alexandria & from there reached Southampton via RIPON on 20th Nov and reached London on the same day. 1s bearing steam packet rate applied for a letter under 1 oz. Firstly sent to Farnham, where the 1s bearing postage was collected, then redirected to Waugford by applying QV 1d SG 8, obliterated with numeral 292 Farnham cancellation on 21st Nov, and delivered at Waugford on the next day. London, Farnham transit & Waugford delivery marks applied.
