INGOING PRESTAMP MAIL EX G.B. INC. RARE SOLDIER's 1d CONCESSION RATE, FANCY LONDON F.A.C., ETC.; 1831-49 covers inc. 1831E ex London with "POST PAID SHIP LR/LONDON" oval ds redirected from Bombay to "Saltarah", 1832/7 pair of ELs ex London Calcutta/Saugor both with oval "MADRAS/SHIP LETTER" transit ds (both ex H. Giles; with typescripts), 1842 E from London (family letter; mentions M. Tussauds) to Chittagong via Falmouth with a lovely garter-frame "GRINDLAY, CHRISTIAN & MATTHEWS/EAST INDIA/ARMY AGENTS/16 CORNHILL" Forwarding Agents Cachet (not recorded by Rowe who does note their 1838 rectangular type) just across the join, a rare 1846 EL (affected by transparent brown tape - should be removed) from London "Camden Town/1D. PAID" to "Camp Deesa, Bombay or elsewhere, India" at the Soldier's ingoing 1d Concession Rate with red oval "FREE" ds of Bombay & Kurrachee (both crossed by tape) sadly endorsed "Dead" on the front, and 1849 E ex London via France to Simlah (redirected to Umballa & Calcutta - several transit marks).
