The Buckker HG 2 handstamp
Fortifi ed island in the River Indus, in Sukkur District, Sind, situated 2r43' N and 68°56' E. In 1839, during the first Afghan War, the fort of Buckker was ceded by the Khairpur Mirs to the British, to be occupied by them, and so it remained till the conquest of the whole province in 1843.
Buckker HG 2 is a pre-1854 handstruck postal marking of the post office at Buckker in the Sindh, British India, in recorded use from 1840 to 1842. Known strikes are in black. It is listed in 1993 Supplement, where each marking of British India is assigned a figure number — hence "HG 2".
