Clear strike with manuscript "14/4/1850" date and "1-4" rate added and applied on receipt on back of folded letter datelined "Nice, 22nd February 1850" , addressed to "Captain David Anderson, H.M. 22nd Regiment, Dugshaie, near Simla" , sender's directive "per Malle des Indes, via Marseilles" , blue Marseilles company cachet handstamp on back, Malta (Mar. 4), Alexandria (Mar. 8), and Calcutta (Apr. ?) transit datestamps, Very Fine
