1848-56 Entire letters from G.B to India all bearing cut to shape embossed stamps, six to Captain Clarke, Deputy Commissioner 25 Regt. B.N.I, or his wife, franked 6d, 1/- (2) or 10d + 1/- (3) all cancelled at Exeter (one with sideways duplex), four with "WHITESIDE" undated circle on reverse, one letter to Jhung with very scarce undated oval "LAHOR / P.O" backstamp, also a letter from Berwick to Major De Sausmarez, 21st Madras N.I at Ootacamund with green boxed Ootacamund Bearing backstamp.
