Sohna (the Sonah of early records) is a town in Gurgaon district, Haryana, set beneath the Aravalli spurs and known for its hot sulphur springs, a route and market town of the Mewat borderland south of Delhi. It lay on the roads toward Rajputana. In the era of the Company's northern posts it served as a mail town, and its pre-1854 markings record the posts of the Mewat country.
