Sardhana (the Sirdahana of early records) is a town in Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh, famed as the seat of Begum Samru and her great basilica, an estate town of the upper doab north of Meerut. It lay among the fertile plains of the doab. Within the North-Western Provinces it served as a post town, and its pre-1854 markings trace the mail of the Meerut country.
