India, Rajpootana, 1837, "RAJPOOTANA/BEARg/18_" Oval Handstamp (Giles 5). Faint but legible strike with manuscript "19 Sept. (18) 57" date and "13 as" rate added on back of folded letter originating in England and datelined "Blackheath April 20th-28th, 1837" , addressed to Surgeon in the 22nd Infantry in Nuseerabad (via Calcutta), red Calcutta (Sept. 14) transit and rate handstamp on back, cover with some minor edgewear, Fine and scarce incoming military use
